I have just seen a DVD titled “Nicholas Nickleby” which is not played in
It is a story written by Charles Dickens, the author of “A Tale of Two Cities”. I have not read the original novel, but I think that the screen writer transformed the story into some kind of fairy tale. Yet, I still can imagine the scope Charles wanted to picture. I guess one of his main purposes is to inspire readers to be decent human beings even in difficult conditions. It is a pity that I do not know the original version of the story, or I could compare the differences of the two.
The movie seems to be a small production, but it gets a big cast. Christopher Plummer,
