Seattle Center and Waterfront

In the morning, I made reservations of the lodge and car rental for tomorrow’s Olympics trip and spent some time planning the route.

music

Then, I got to Seattle Center for photography and Experience Music Project. At EMP, there is a guitar gallery exhibiting the “evolutions” of guitars and the stories of great guitar players. It is not until today did I realize that there are actually two kinds of guitar: Spanish and Hawaiian type. Their tones are different and the ways musicians play them differ as well. My favorite part of EMP is the hands-on-activity sections. Visitors can learn how to play guitar, bass, drums and piano by following sequences of interactive programs. I have learned how to play a simple melody along with the background music of “Sugar, Sugar,” quite exciting!

Afterwards, I went to waterfront and visited the pike place market. The market’s scale is phenomenal. All sorts of food and products are sold. The crabs on the table really caught my eyes. It is only a pity that Miss P is not interested in seafood at all. Otherwise, I am definitely going to steam one. They look so freshly delicious.

ferry

Waterfront is also where the ferry building locates. I had acknowledged that I had better take a ferry from Edmonds to Kingston tomorrow morning, so I gathered some information about the fees and schedules. It is really something new for a Taiwanese local to imagine a picture of driving a car into a ferry. I am kind of excited and nervous about tomorrow’s adventure already.
