A Benevolent Heroine

0326

Because I have to find an exemplar for the theory of “forgiveness” to complete my paper, I googled the key word and accidentally found out a heroine.

Her name is Aba Gayle. In 1980, her daughter was brutally murdered. Since then, she had experienced long years of a passionate lust for revenge. However, after she was introduced a book, “A Course in Miracles”, she began to work on forgiving the murderer. She did not just forgive the murderer in her heart but actually wrote a letter to the murderer and let him know that she had forgiven him. She even paid him a visit on death row in prison. Not just that, she also established a foundation in memory of her daughter to teach the others the healing power of forgiveness.

Personally, I regard her as a heroine who honors her beloved daughter in a courageous and altruistic way.

我看著她的故事時感動到都冒出手汗呢!!

For Kance:
所以我才跟你說生氣是很自然且健康的事情,除了使我們反思自己的情緒之外,也讓我們有機會去學習原諒。這不是件容易的事,這位女士也是掙扎了痛苦的八年才開始踏上學習原諒的歷程。
