The Overdue Notice

I got an overdue notice as follows from the Circulation Department of Mugar Memorial Library of BU today.

“This material is overdue and accruing late charge. Please return it promptly.”

The words, “late charge”, really upset me. I am positive that I returned the book six months ago. Afterwards, I went to Mugar and confronted to the librarian. He told me that I could check the bookshelves if the book would be on the stack.

Lucky for me, the so-called-overdue book was right on the bookshelf of Mugar. Yet, I am kind of annoyed by the possible consequence of paying the penalty because of others’ carelessness.
